I though I would just quickly post photos of the greeting cards I have been working on. These are all birthday cards.
This fun card is pretty much all cut paper. I added a bit of silver gel pen outlining just to give it a bit of flair. The patterned paper was salvaged from an old card.
My card making is a “learn as you go” process. I’m just diving in to this without any direction or prior experience. With each card I learn a little bit more.
This card is actually the first one I started working on. It is cut papers, rubber stamping, hemp cord and wax seal. I coffee stained the ivory colored paper first to get rid of the bright white. I’ve found all kinds of fun patterned papers to work with in the scrapbooking aisle at Hobby Lobby. I just love that place!
This card is made with scrapbook papers, rick-rack, burlap paper, rubber stamping and colored pencil. The burlap paper is really wonderful. It came in a pad of assorted colors. I just cut a small strip to use on this card. The boat design was rubber stamped on to the blue scrapbook paper and colored with colored pencil.
This card was a birthday card for my husband. I used patterned scrapbook paper, textured weave paper, glitter paper, ribbon and an adhesive back jewel. The message in the upper corned was made with a rubber stamp.
A few years ago I was lucky enough to find a set of Creative Memories circle and oval cutters at a yard sale. I love shopping at yard sales and re-sale shops. I’ve found so many wonderful things I can use for card making and crafts. Just today I purchased some lacy applique flowers and a couple of spools of ribbon that I plan to use for cards in the future. I’ve been lucky enough to find quite a lot of rubber stamps at re-sale shops, as well as a few at yard sales.
That’s all for now. Time to get back to work on some colored pencil drawings.
